The next meeting will be a hike at Kincaid Park. We will meet there at 1830, do a quick safety briefing, and hike until 2045. Pickup will be at 2100. The UOD will be civilian clothes. Also, please bring hydration gear.

Cadets and Parents,
This Tuesday’s meeting (16 June 2020) will be an in-person meeting. We will have a short presentation on preventing sports injuries, conduct a PT test, and play ultimate frisbee.
The location is Eagle River High School athletic fields:
8701 Yosemite Dr, Eagle River, AK 99577
The UOD will be athletic gear. Please bring water and a mask. Masks must be worn at all times (exept during active work out) and cadets must stay at double-arm interval the entire time. A sign-in roster will be available to record cadet's temperatures before they are allowed into the meeting.
Prior to arrival to ERHS, parents have the option to email their cadet's temperature taken (no earlier than Tuesday morning)to the DCC & ADCC:

Please wear comfortable workout clothes and have a hydration source close by. If you want to work a specific muscle group (biceps, triceps, quads, etc), please let me know and I will incorporate that into the workout.

This Tuesday’s meeting (21 April 2020) will be a Health and Fitness meeting. It will be a virtual meeting. We will start at 6:30. I request that staff be on at 6:15 for the staff meeting. The UOD will be comfortable athletic clothing. We will start the meeting once every one is present. I will give a short presentation on staying active and keeping safe. We will then play a game on the operational or strategic level. We will decide which game we will play once the meeting is started. The meeting will end before 8:00.

All,
This week's ES meeting will be taking place on Google Hangouts. We will be covering the following Skills:
O-0412 (Conduct Individual Actions On Find)
O-0407 (Conduct Attraction Techniques)
L-0001 (Basic Communications Procedures for ES Operations)
We will be starting the class at 1800 (6:00pm), so cadets can catch up with each other. Instruction will begin at 1830 (6:30pm).
Something that has been proposed by the staff is a second meeting on Fridays. Let us know your thoughts on this during the meeting.
Finally, your Deputy Director for Cadets has this message for you all.
From the desk of the Polaris Composite Squadron, Deputy Commander for Cadets: Cadets, these are not easy times for you, your families, our CAP program, and our nation. I urge you to stay active, both physically, spiritually, and mentally at home. Use this time to better yourself as a person, as a student, and as a cadet. Our Cadet Program continues and is active; work on your tests, training, STEM, Rocketry, and for promotions this month. Look out for your fellow cadets and reach out to them. Senior Members are also a resource that you can utilize as well. In a message from our nation's revolution, Thomas Paine stated: "The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." This can be easily applied in today's world, so let's step up, stay connected, lead, help others, and have fun as a team. - SSgt Lukic

See your promotion eligibility, take online tests, and record your drills with your family. This upcoming Tuesday meeting will be Aerospace Education. The UOD will be ABU’s. We will be meeting at the UAA campus; the address is 2811 Merrill Field Anchorage. The schedule is as follows:

19:00 Rotations Between Lt Gecsedi Class and Paper Airplane Competition
20:00 Talk presented by USMA Cadet
21:00 Closing Formation and Dismissal
During the rotations there will be also Flight Sims and the option to take online tests in the computer lab in order to promote.

Encampment update: Polaris has a few more cadet slots available for the June encampment. Registration reopens on March 10th, you are encouraged to apply! Encampment is the centerpiece of the cadet program. It’s a full immersion into cadet life, and a prerequisite for officer promotions and certain national cadet activities.

Cadets and Parents,
This next week’s meeting (3/3/2020), we will be meeting at the Squadron Building, where we will be staying for the duration of the meeting, from 1830 to 2100 (6:30 pm to 9:00pm). We will be working on learning prerequisite skills for the GTM3 Rating, Including line searching, mirror and whistle signals, identifying search clues for missing aircraft, and writing a mission log. Please bring your Ground Team equipment, as many of the tools in your gear will be utilized for this training. Please also bring water and adequate winter clothing. This includes Jacket, Gloves, and a Hat.
If you do not have a 24 Hour Rescue Kit, then the items you will need to acquire for this training are an orienteering compass, a whistle, a notepad and pen, and a signal mirror.

In order to enhance communication between cadet leadership, cadets, and parents, we will begin utilizing Remind app texting to your phones starting this March.
The messages will be sent by senior members before each meeting or event as an additional notification to the emails that are usually sent.
